Inicio sur, junto a nuestra tienda

Teverga es el concejo donde empieza o termina la ruta turística más popular (Entrago ↔ Buyera, 18 km descendentes). Si vas a alquilar bici con nosotros y aprovechar el transfer de vuelta, dormir aquí es lo más cómodo: sales del alojamiento, pasas a por la bici, haces la ruta y vuelves con la furgoneta al mismo punto.

Proaza

Tramo central, con Paca y Molina

Proaza es el corazón de la Senda del Oso. Aquí está el cercado osero donde vivieron Paca y Tola y donde hoy vive Molina. Es un sitio excelente si tu prioridad es ver de cerca a la osa al día siguiente sin carrera, o si vas a hacer el tramo Proaza → Tuñón andando (el más recomendado en familia).

Tuñón, inicio norte

Santo Adriano es el concejo más pequeño del recorrido, pero es donde empieza la senda por el lado norte (Tuñón). Si vas a hacer la ruta completa en sentido descendente (Entrago → Tuñón, 22 km) y quieres dormir cerca del punto de llegada, esta es la zona.

Ramal sur, el menos visitado

Quirós cubre el ramal sur de la Y (Caranga → Santa Marina, 14 km). Es el menos frecuentado y, por eso mismo, una opción interesante si huyes de las multitudes de julio y agosto.

Si viajas a Asturias por primera vez o prefieres base urbana con más oferta de restauración, museos y vida, dormir en Oviedo y desplazarse a la senda en coche (40 min hasta Entrago, 35 min hasta Tuñón) es una alternativa perfectamente viable.

Where does the Bear Trail start, so I can pick a stay?

The most popular tourist route starts in Entrago (Teverga) and ends in Buyera (Proaza), 18 km downhill. The main trunk runs from Tuñón (Santo Adriano) to Caranga (Proaza). If you ride with us, staying in Entrago or nearby is the easiest option.

Which is the best village to stay in near the Bear Trail?

Depends on your plan. For a bike ride with transfer included, Teverga (Entrago and surroundings). To see Molina unhurried, Proaza. For a group or backpackers, the Arrojo hostel (Quirós). For an urban base with more food options, Oviedo.

How much does a rural house cost near the Bear Trail?

Country houses and apartments are usually 14-35 € per person per night in mid-season. In summer and long weekends prices rise; in winter and midweek there are deals. The Arrojo Municipal Hostel is the cheapest option.

Is there a campsite near the Bear Trail?

In recent years campsite options right on the trail are limited. The classic reference is the Somiedo Natural Park (~45 min by car). Some Quirós country houses allow camping on private land — ask directly.

Which stay is best with kids?

Apartments with a kitchen in Teverga or Santo Adriano are the most practical (Balcón Real, La Escanda): informal dinners, washing machine, space. They pair well with our child trailers or baby seats.

Can I stay in Proaza to visit the Molina enclosure?

Yes. The enclosure is right on the trail in Proaza and several lodgings in the council are under 3 km away. Access to the enclosure viewpoint is free from the trail.

Are there hotels with direct access to the Bear Trail?

Yes. Hotel Alesga Rural (Teverga) and Apartamentos Balcón Real (Teverga) are under 1 km from the start. In Proaza, La Casona de Don Santos is 1 km from the viewpoint.

Do you recommend a specific place to stay?

We’d rather not play favourites: each place has its audience. What is clear is that if you ride with us, sleeping in Teverga saves you 20-30 minutes of driving per day.
