From what age can they ride? From babies of a few months, with the right kit. The minimum age depends on what you bring. Here's the guide we share with families who call before coming — every option includes helmet, insurance and return transfer.
When the baby holds their head steady. Up to 20 kg. Mounted on the back of your bike.

What they'll love
Kids aged 3 to 12 keep asking about these three spots the whole way.
Halfway along
Molina's enclosure
Halfway along, in Proaza, sits the enclosure of the Fundación Oso de Asturias. Molina, a Cantabrian brown bear, lives in semi-freedom and can be watched from a free viewpoint right on the trail.
Best time to see her active: 9:00-11:00 or 17:00-19:00.
The story of Paca, Tola and Molina
Pure excitement
30+ lit up
More than 30 tunnels cut into the rock, all lit by solar power. The longest is 300 m and has side openings towards the river you can peek through.
Kids want to echo, shout and watch the water rushing below.

Over the Teverga river
Several bridges cross the Teverga river. On some you can go down to the bank in summer (bring a swimsuit). In Proaza there's a very photogenic spot with flat stones.
Perfect stop for a snack on a sunny day.

How long it takes with little ones
If you'd rather walk
Yes, you can do it on foot with a stroller — but only all-terrain strollers with big wheels. If you don't have one, rent a child trailer from us (€22).
These work
Bugaboo Fox / Donkey
30 cm wheels with 4-wheel suspension
Thule Urban Glide 2
Fixed front wheel, all-terrain
Mountain Buggy Terrain
Pneumatic 30 cm wheels, off-road
3-wheel jogger
Air wheel 30 cm or bigger, suspension
Child trailer
€22/day
These struggle
Light urban strollers
Small solid wheels, no suspension
Folding travel umbrellas
Hard wheels, no suspension
Hard-wheel prams
Under 25 cm, rigid plastic
If the wheel is hard plastic or smaller than 25 cm, better rent a trailer.
Recommended section with stroller
The best section on foot with a stroller: short, flat, with the bear enclosure as a reward halfway.
Typical worries
The 5 most common worries of first-time mums and dads on the trail. We've heard them a thousand times — here are the real answers.
The route is downhill and costs little effort. Plus you have plenty of time — we're open from 9:30 to 18:00, so you can make all the stops you want (see Molina, snack in Proaza, play on the bridges) and move at the kids' pace. No rush.
The trailers have a hood. The forest gives shade and cover. The tunnels (30+) are natural shelters. If the forecast is bad, you cancel free up to 24 h before and we reschedule for the day that fits best.
Molina lives in a closed enclosure, with electric fencing and 24/7 monitoring by the Fundación Oso. Visitors watch from a raised viewpoint 30-100 m away. It's 100% safe.
You call us and we come. We bring tools and a spare wheel. We're about 10 km away by van from the furthest point.
It's a greenway exclusively for pedestrians and cyclists. There are a few crossings with minor roads, all properly signposted with cycle crossings and stop signs on both sides. Teach the kids to stop at each crossing and look both ways — they're safe and quiet, but better safe than sorry.
